While the waste generated by a site-built home can fill several huge dumpsters, the waste generated by a modular home is significantly less.
Fremont, CA: For various reasons, modular buildings are seen to have advantages over traditional structures. In the areas of Sustainable Sites, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, and Indoor Environmental Quality, modular buildings can contribute to LEED standards in each category where site-built construction can and can even provide an advantage. In similar categories of the International Green Construction Code, modular construction can also provide an advantage.
Here are three advantages of modular construction:
Faster Return on Investment
The building and site work can both be accomplished at the same time with modular construction. Almost all design and engineering disciplines are included in the manufacturing process to save even more time and money. The capacity to construct a building's floors, walls, ceilings, rafters, and roofs all at the same time is also unique to modular construction. Walls cannot be erected until floors have been installed, and ceilings and rafters cannot be added until walls have been erected. Walls, floors, ceilings, and rafters, on the other hand, are all manufactured at the same time and then brought together in the same factory to form a building with modular construction.
